Aarthi Agarwal was an Indian-American actress. She predominantly appeared in Telugu cinema. She was born on March 5, 1984, in New Jersey, United States. She is the daughter of Shashank and Veema. Her father is a business man and mother is a home maker. Her nickname is Nandhu.

At around 14 years of age, actor Sunil Shetty spotted her and invited her to dance on stage in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. After the performance, he asked her father to encourage her to take up acting in Bollywood and at the age of 16, she made her debut with Paagalpan. Agarwal made her Telugu film debut in Nuvvu Naaku Nachav with actor Venkatesh. She was one of the few non-Telugu speaking actresses to work with noted Indian film stars Chiranjeevi, Nandamuri Balakrishna, Akkineni Nagarjuna, Mahesh Babu, Ravi Teja, and Mahesh Babu.

In 2007, Aarthi married to NRI Ujjwal Kumar. But they got Divorced in 2009. It is very shocking news that Aarthi has died. She has died on 6 June in 2015 Atlantic City, New Jersey. The Hindu reported that the actress had attempted suicide after she was hospitalized with internal head injuries at Apollo Hospital, Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad and put on ventilator support. On 6 June 2015, Agarwal was pronounced dead on arrival at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Aarthi had undergone a liposuction surgery six weeks prior. She had severe breathing problems before her death. Her manager stated the cause of her death was cardiac arrest.
